This weeks course on our mission to review every golf course in Australia is:

The Lakeside Country Club:

The very first thing I will say about the Lakeside Country Club is, damn it's good value, from just $16 for nine holes and $20 for a cart you can't get much better value than that, and if you don't have a lot of time to spare this may just be the course for you.

Lakeside Country Club

The first few holes are very much your typical Queensland golf course, the grass is lush and green and there is water literally everywhere. When you walk up to the first tee, you'll want to make sure you've had a few practice swings because the chances of losing a ball in the water are pretty high.

As you approach the back of the course the water is a little less prominent, that doesn't mean the holes get any easier though, with one of the hardest par 3's on the course not having any water at all, but what it does have is testing distance, a green sitting up high, a flag that's obscured by slopes around the green.

Lakeside Country Club

My personal favourite hole on the course in the only par 4, the 8th hole, at only 271 meters of length its not the longest par 4 you're ever going to play, but it is a challenging tee shot, anything right is dead, there's a large tree blocking your path to the left and the landing zone narrows as you approach the green, a straight drive is paramount here.

Conclusion

You won't regret a round of golf at the Lakeside Country Club, its beautiful to look at, you can fit in a round any time of day, the value is outstanding and there are some genuinely challenging holes, give it a try.
