This weeks course on our mission to review every golf course in Australia is:
When we made our way down to the Lang Lang golf course we drove past the Garfield Golf Course and both agreed that we needed to get down and give it ago
A week later and with the wind blowing hard we walked up to the tee, We really love country courses and when you arrive at Garfield you instantly relax, its got a really layed back vibe which we love
Garfield is an old fashioned golf course, you're not going to find loads of bunkers lining the fairways and greens but what will find is tight fairways and dog legs
Even though the fairways are tight the ground under the trees is a little more forgiving than most courses allowing you to one find your ball and two get yoursefl out of trouble, make sure you practice your punch shots, because you're going to need them.
The greens and fairways are all in excellent condition, you'll rarely get a back lie and the greens while they were quick when we were there they were fair, there is some water on the course to ad to the asthetic, but you should lose too many balls
The Garfield Golf Club puts a premium on good tee shot selection and placement, the holes are designed to make you think about your shots, like I said earlier if you do find yourself in the trees there's usually a path out, if you can dodge the trees. At $35 a round on the weekend and $30 mid week its great value, the people are really nice and welcoming, get out and support country courses.
