This weeks course on our mission to review every golf course in Australia is:

The Boomerang Farm Golf Club:

Being summer in Queensland the sun gets up at a ridiculously early hour, so we decided to take advantage of that and head 20 minutes west of where we were staying on the Golf Coast to discover this little know hidden gem, the Boomerang Farm Golf Club.

Once you turn off the road and into the course, you're instantly transported to a forest oasis, you drive across a small bridge with flowing water below and past some of the awesome mountain bike tracks that are also here at Boomerang Farm.

Heading to the first tee you're met with a serene quiet, it was only 6:30 in the morning but the sun was already starting to pack a punch, after seeing the pictures online we were very keen to see this course for ourselves.

The first two par fours didn't let us down, beautiful palm trees and dense forest line the fairway, lush green grass and although the greens weren't at their best it certainly didn't detract from the experience.

The third hole is the highlight of the course, a long par 5, that winds around a long dog leg to the left, but it's the tee shot that will keep you coming back, tucked in on the hill, with trees either side and a narrow opening to launch your drive through, it's a wonderful opening to a hole.

After a couple of par 5's the course settles into a series of par 3's, but don't think it's a walk in the park from there, each of them is a challenge, from uphill tee shots, to tee shots that drop away below your feet, it's easy to lose a few balls.

And then there's the final hole, one of the finest closing holes we've played, it's only a short par 5 but it's one of the most difficult tee shots to land on the fairway, there are two elevated tees', on for the 9th and the higher for the 18th.

Conclusion

It's wonderful little course that we just happened to come across on google maps, and we are so glad that we did, it's not going to compete with the resort courses on the Gold Coast like The Glades or Palm Meadows, but it doesn't need to, it's an experience in its own right, and at just $20, it's a no brainer.
