Brand:

Srixon

Who's it made for?

Mid to High Handicappers

Specifications:

FastLayer Core, Srixon’s proprietary 338 Speed Dimple pattern

Srixon Soft Feel Review:

With Srixon's FastLayer Core, their proprietary 338 Speed Dimple pattern and a compession ration of just 70 the Srixon Soft Feel is definitely aimed at swing speeds slower than 85mph and with a damn right reasonable price its very much aimed at your average golfer.

We've been using this ball for a few rounds so lets see how it stacks up, Trevor and Damien are not too bad with the driver in hand, and with Damien having a fast swing speed and Trevor having a slower swing speed its a good opportunity to see how the ball reacts to different swings swings.

Driving:

Not long ago we gave the Srixon Distance a workout and straight from the outset you can see that this ball does not have the carry the Distance ball does, thats not to say you cant put the ball out there, the bigger hitters are the ones that are really going to notice the difference but the trade off for the average player may just be worth while.

Long Irons:

This is where this ball suffers the most from my point of view, when you're trying to cover a long distance and maintain the accuracy the ball comes up a little bit short, while on the course I had a 180 meter 4 iron into the green, I decided to compare the Soft Feel to the Z-Star (unfair comparison I know) and the z-star just made the journey that little bit easier

Short Irons:

If the long irons are its weakness then the short irons are where it shines, with the soft compression comes the nicer feel and a decent amount of zip, landing the ball on the green from 130 Meters out just feels nice and I never had to worry about landing the ball short to stop it rolling over the back.

Conclusion

The Srixon Soft Feel is a terrific value golf ball, if you're budget concious then it represents great value, If I had to choose I would go with the Srixon Distance over the Soft Feel as I can generate enough spin and the distance felt better with the long irons and drivers, but if you're a mid to high handicapper and your looking for a soft ball with great control and reasonable distance then you can't go wrong with this ball.
